Dearest Mommies,
When checking the labels of washes or cleansers for newborns, these common ingredients should be absolutely avoid in the first six months:
- Fragrance/parfum/any type of scent
(because newborns already smell so good!) - Methylparaben, butylparaben, propylparaben
(yes, all parabens!) - Phenoxyethanol/methylisothiazolinone
(when brands say “paraben-free”, these are their usual replacements, but they’re still creepy!) - Sodium Lauryl Sulfate/Sodium Laureth Sulfate
(because they’re ultra-famous irritants!) - PEGs
(these things can allow harmful ingredients to be absorbed by the skin, yikes!)
